WINDSWEPT WONDER
Presenting this establishing shot of the Saga Building in Siljan (Norway) designed by our friends from Holar.
The project holds a square and a “new house for everyone”, (hosting a library, assembly hall, office spaces and workshops areas). Saga should be a house for everyone, and a house you should want to use. The library and café have smooth transitions and are plenty of daylight, open spaces and cozy nooks. The workshop is on the 1st floor and the assembly hall on top can gather many people for a cinema, a lecture, or a wedding.
All this spaces are located around a load-bearing core of concrete which acts as a unifier for the building. The rest of elements are beams and columns in wood, which refers to traditional building practices in Siljan.
