SCHIPHOL NEW TERMINAL: ARRIVAL’S VOID 

This is the design from Kaan Architecten for the Schiphol Airport new terminal. We produce for them a set of images back in 2017.

A clear and honest transparent design was the main character of the project so this elevated view tried to tell the story of the heavy roof, almost flying over the terminal. We wanted to outstand the great big inner cores baring the weight, the grid of skylights and the clear vertical structure of the façade but all those elements needed to be working together not as competitors, but strongly readable. That take us to the election of this kind of lower sun coming form the back, which made the building appear.
