MUSEUM SINGER LAREN: TWO WORLDS
This is the design proposed by Koen Van Velsen for the Museum Singer Laren, the Netherlands. This is an addition to the collection of connected buildings that forms the existing museum.
All this pavilions are linked by a garden designed by Piet Oudolf. So, when facing this interior view, it was clear that the exterior garden and background existing buildings needed to be very present. However, at the same time, the new clear, clean and crisp space needed to be outstood. So this central cross view revealed to be the perfect solution: showing the new white and bright area in opposition to the dark gallery with the garden and old buildings as the perfect background.
