THE GILBERT CABIN: DOWNHILL 

Another beautiful project form our friends from Arizona, Studio MA. The Gilbert Cabin, a nice residential project located on Utah, close to Powder Mountain. This single family house is what we could call “a room with a view”, like Mr. Ivory would say. The building stands on the upper part of the hill on an entourage covered in snow most part of the year. However, even thinking on a snowy environment, we wanted to test a high contrast view. The bright over exposed effect on the snow in opposition to the deep blue saturated sky, captured our attention from test one. The balance between volumes was an important subject to be maintained, along with the direction of the main composition lines. So here you are, the only exterior view of the set, where architecture seems to be part of the landscape since the beginning.
